Thule was one of the names of an ancient city in the north, that, like Atlantis, was covered by water and sank in the sea. There was a secret society called the Thule Society that supposedly had an influence in Nazi Germany. The Thule myth, also called Hyperborea,  was that the city along with its inhabitants, an advanced race, would rise again someday.
